Living in an 1980's arcade!

« on: November 05, 2009, 09:12:18 PM »

Looking at the Pinball data Base, I was shocked to see that Bally was offered the rights to make what became this pin, and made Two, but then balked and let Atari get the rights. Anywho, Big Foot was the working name and BG for the Bally version. I was lucky enough to Play Hercules when it first came out, but at $1.00 a game, that was Big Money back then, and the game was  so slow and clunky that after a few plays, it wasn't something that you would want to ever play again. It seemed like it was 10 minutes time just for the ball to get up to the top of the playfield. 15 Years ago we had one in Myrtle Beach at the now defunct Circus arcade. It still blew chunks! I have to chuckle though as one seems to show up every year for sale. You would need a large truck and a damn forklift to move it though. I also remember getting parts for it is hard. Hercules! Not! angry (2)

Ive never played one but watched it on you-tube.  And spooky your description is really accurate from what I saw.  I might play one to say that I played one but yeah, look slow and boring...

I played one when I was a kid at the arcade in Springfield Mall in VA. Of course those were the good old days when pinball ruled the arcades, and the arcade at Springfield Mall had just about any new pin there was. Hercules was probably brand new when I played it, but then again I am getting old! LOL!

Whats up Hammerhead? WELCOME to a great pin site and a cool bunch of guys! I once went every other day to a place called: Dream Machine" a two-story arcade with the upper level filled with anywhere from 10 to 18 pins at a time! Sigh.... Anywho, we aren't getting old, its  just our pins are! ~Spooky  Smiley

Thanks for the welcome guys! Your right, around here (Southern MD) pinballs have seem to disappear  totally! I would love to try some to the new Sterns (wanted to play IJ4 when it came out really bad) but the only pin I can find on location is Spider Man at the bowling Ally in Annapolis. Seems like the only way to play new games is to buy them! Now if I could find a place that sells them without asking an arm and a leg for one! LOL
